Walk to Adastra Gardens?

Since I didn't see the question a week ago, or the replies, here is our experience.

We walked to Adastra Gardens. We are both seniors but love to walk around and see what there is to see. It is about 1 1/2 miles from the dock to AG. The first part of the walk is thru most of the touristy areas and fine. Once we sort of cleared the city, we were walking along the busy road, but for blocks, we were about the only ones walking there. The neighborhood isn't bad, but there are no shops, stores, restaurants etc. We weren't scared or nervous, but after all the talk about crime in Nassau, it did get me to thinking--'what if....'. We did take the jitney back, and when I posted about this on our return, I made it clear that if we had to do over again, we would have opted for the jitney instead of the walk. it is not the distance, and we never felt threatened, but I just thought we would always be around scores of people and it wasn't like that.

Take my advice and take the jitney for $1.25PP--much easier.

BTW, the zoo was great.

Cheers
