Feebarn Posted November 30, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2014 Been looking and looking at a particular cruise and offer that is currently showing on Princess website - Free balcony upgrade and $200 obc. That offer ends tonight and we still (despite much obsessing) haven't booked. My question is, what comes next. What other kinds of offers are Princess likely to put up? I guess what I'm asking is - do we just stop vacillating and book this tonight, or is the grass greener? Bear in mind we are in the UK and we don't seem to get the same "deal" as those in the US where we can keep adjusting our price downwards with each new offer. We do have a FCC to use and we are happy enough with the price as is. All advice gratefully received.
paul929207 Posted November 30, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 30, 2014 What Princess does next will all depend on how the ship is selling. If the current sale is successful, they may return to the pre-sale or even raise them. If it is less successful, they may continue it or even lower prices. Feebarn Posted November 30, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted November 30, 2014 Its a transatlantic on the Royal in April. There seems to be plenty of availability. So that perhaps answers my own question, potentially further discounting?
beg3yrs Posted November 30, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 30, 2014 My personal rule is if the price is good enough now, book it. Then, I stop obsessing. Of course I do continue to check prices up until final payment (I'm in the US) so if there's a drop I can get it. Once on a 28-day voyage on the Dawn, prices dropped, for only about a week, so low that I moved from a balcony up to a mini-suite and still saved $4,000 US. However, if there's no drop before then I don't worry. As I said, the price was good enough at the time.
sandy999 Posted December 2, 2014 #5 Share Posted December 2, 2014 I am booked on a cruise, and just spotted a Christmas deal. Called princess via my TA who adjusted the booking. Reduced price and meal for 2 in a speciality restaurant. I am in the UK.
