Close public beach

Mr. Sanchos beach club is a short 10-15 minute cab ride from the ports and offers both a free pay-as-you-go side as well as an all-inclusive (food/drinks) side.

Paradise Beach is another popular pay-as-you-go beach club with great facilities and a HUGE pool - but they charge a small admission fee ($3?) to cover chair rental, etc.

Both will be about a $16+ cab ride.

If you want to snorkel form the shore, the Moeny Bar charges no admission, is closer (about a $10 cab ride) and also offers a sandy area for sunning/relaxing. No beach - you enter the water via steps - but the snorkeling is wonderful.

There are a couple of public snorkeling access points to the north toward town, between the International pier and the car ferry. One of these is at La Palapita, across from a dive shop. This is a local's beach. La Palapita is a restaurant and they do have facilities. But you'll need to buy food/ drink to use. The beach is very small but the restaurant owner is very friendly. It's about a 10 minute walk from Puerta Maya.

There is public access to the beach just before the Money Bar. You'll NOT find any free facilities and will have to take the taxi to the Money Bar and walk back a short ways and then likewise return to the Money Bar to get a taxi back to the ship. You could walk but it's about 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) from the pier.
