Mameow Posted December 11, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 11, 2014 Saw another news about norovirus outbreak on Dawn Princess, any mom out there really concern? What can you do (besides the hand washing, etc) for a one and a half year old? I have been on three cruises never got sick.
cb at sea Posted December 11, 2014 #2 Share Posted December 11, 2014 (edited) Your child is more likely to get moro at daycare/church/grocery store than on the ship! True, it's difficult to keep a toddler's hands away from their face....eyes, nose and mouth are the entry points....so just keep your child's hands clean, as best you can! You know, it's not the SHIP, but the passengers who carry the virus! Edited December 11, 2014 by cb at sea
Kerry's Girls Posted December 11, 2014 #3 Share Posted December 11, 2014 I'm not a big germ-o-phobe, but when on ships I started using the Clorox hand wipes that kill viruses (not just germs). We've been on two ships with norovirus outbreaks, but did not get it. We tried not to touch things like handrails, elevator buttons (knuckles instead of fingers), etc. and just kept hands constantly cleaned. flhokie Posted December 12, 2014 #4 Share Posted December 12, 2014 Do the things the others mentioned, but take powdered pedialite with you just in case.
Lerin Posted December 13, 2014 #5 Share Posted December 13, 2014 Not a worry of mine. More worried about getting in a car wreck on the way to the port as the probability of that is far greater than getting Noro. Relax and enjoy your cruise.
