Is it better to call HAL or wait for them?

Well, I did contact them and they wouldn't tell me my cabin but said there were upgrades available but that my TA would have to contact them. Good luck with that. He seems to have disappeared. Yes, I knew what I was getting into but the price I got from that competitive online TA was $500 less than what my regular TA could do for the same cabin. She told me to go with him, no hard feelings.

I know I'm getting what I paid for and worse case, I will find out where I am resting my head on Dec. 22.

This is exactly why we do not normally use a travel agent. The one time that we used a TA, it killed us that we were not in control. I know that many people love their TA (and that's great if that's what you like), but we prefer to do it on our own so we are in control of our reservation. There was only one time that we were able to do better ($) with a TA.

We booked a balcony guarantee for our Jan 4 sailing and called last week and were offered a very nice upsell that made us very happy...so it never hurts to try.
