trish1c Posted December 21, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 21, 2014 (edited) We will be driving from FLL to MIA the morning of our cruise. Not being from the area can some one please clue me in on the best radio stations to be tuned in for up to the minute traffic reports throughout our drive? I always give visitors to the NY area ports 3 stations up here that have the best most frequent reports. We don't need to be the 1st on board. We're planning to leave FLL around 9:00 a.m. Even with dropping the rental car off, is that enough time? Thanks in advance! Capt_BJ Posted December 21, 2014 #2 Share Posted December 21, 2014 not exactly what you are aking for but may help anyway how about a e-mail subscription for alerts and a link to Miami area live traffic cams . . . http://www.sunguide.info/sunguide/index.php/travel_info/Port_of_Miami/ see the 511 link found on this page too AND you can get info about the ne POM tunnel . . 9 is plenty of time but you may still catch some of the rush hour traffic. The strong Latin influence around Miami sees some offices starting later ... I know that apples to where dd works just minutes from the port. trish1c Posted December 21, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted December 21, 2014 Thank you. We'll be traveling on a Sunday. Last time I was in Miami on a Sunday morning it was a ghost town except for cruisers. I'm not expecting rush hour anything. Am I mistaken?

BlueHerons Posted December 22, 2014 #5 Share Posted December 22, 2014 All the radio stations give traffic updates but I'm not sure how good that will do you if you don't know which road and which exits they are talking about. If traffic gets bad on I95, just jump over to the hot lane. It has taken me as long as three hours to get to Miami on a weekday morning.
Capt_BJ Posted December 22, 2014 #6 Share Posted December 22, 2014 but OP came back and added they are on a Sunday so NO ISSUE (95% of the time) agree? (and you wouldn't find many traffic updates on a Sunday because there's seldom an issue . . .)
