Sox Fan Cruiser Posted December 27, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 27, 2014 Anyone on the Golden Princess currently sailing in South America checking the boards? Any thing to report to us getting the ship next on the 3rd? How is the weather? How is the ship? How are the ports? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks! GoldieJ Posted December 27, 2014 #2 Share Posted December 27, 2014 Interested in any reports about the Golden in South America also. We'll be on that cruise later in the month. Sox Fan Cruiser, please post your experiences on cruise critic. Would love to hear about YOUR impressions. We did this cruise on Norwegian in 2010 and it was fantastic! So good, that we're redoing it with friends and relatives, on Princess, this time.
Sox Fan Cruiser Posted December 28, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted December 28, 2014 I'll see what I can do. I've never done a "live from" before but with so many sea days, I just might. I'll type it offline and post quickly to save my internet minutes.
Pam in CA Posted December 28, 2014 #4 Share Posted December 28, 2014 Don't know anything other than the Golden was in the Falklands a day or so ago. A friend posted photos from the Stanley webcam as well as the Golden's bridge cam. It's never guaranteed that the ship can tender into port there. I'm also on this upcoming cruise, and I really, really want to see the Falklands. :) Since last year on a TA, I was denied seeing the Shetland Islands due to bad weather, I think the universe owes me! ;)
san diego sue Posted December 28, 2014 #6 Share Posted December 28, 2014 Two years ago we were the first ship that stopped in Falklands for the season. It was exceptional wet in Fauklands rained every day for two weeks before our arrival,we were lucky and had our Penguin tour early in the morning. Later tours got cancelled because of weather. Then I heard that some cruises after us miss the Fauklands.
Sox Fan Cruiser Posted December 29, 2014 Author #7 Share Posted December 29, 2014 Yeah, I understand that we may miss The Falklands. Unsure about the temps for going around the horn. We checked today and it's 100 in Rio!
san diego sue Posted December 29, 2014 #8 Share Posted December 29, 2014 Temps go from freezing cold climates to hot on SA cruises. When we went around the horn it was very cold(down jacket cold).
