Quantum of the Seas review

Recommended Posts

Hi

I am on Quantum now. Arrived yesterday. So far so good. Ship is beautiful IMHO. More exploring today. Dinner at Grande was ok. Got in quickly and sat with a grooup that had already started. Then another couple came. We basically caught up. I ate in a little over an hour. Really fast for me. Escargo and lobster thermador good not as salty as first group said. At least to me as I try to go light on the sodium. Did I tell you I am definitely middle aged. LOL

On my cruise, In the windjammer, on about day 3 or 4 - in the morning, there was a distinct change in attitude of the cruisers, they became very pushy, and rude - or seemed to be extremely disgruntled..

Please keep an eye out and tell me if this happens on your cruise on the same day, I would like to see if it was just a once off...or if you notice it...

because i found the behavior change very noticeable...

and reports would be awesome :D im hanging out here for any good news?

or do the issues continue?

Could be the lack of good coffee affecting our moods. I just went to WJ for the first time last night for dinner. No issues. Went to Devinly's for breakfast. Tomorrow we hit Labadee so folks may be in better spirits.😊

Maybe, just maybe, about the coffee :D

you know i said the same thing for the first 7 breakfasts/lunches at the windjammer

* "no issues" and "food was well layed out" - do not worry the optimism will wear off, and you will experience what I did (you will know the emotion when it hits on day 9 or 10) :D (sorry dont mean to rain on the parade)

* i never got to devinelys(nor to the sushi place) - not that i feel i missed out on anything from what I saw.

How was it though, divinely? was it worth while? be honest - because the picture on the way to through the solarium doesn't look that good..

by what you say, "folks maybe in better spirits", it seems like its right on schedule (about day 3 for you?) and the "motley crew"(of cruisers not staff) seems to be right on track with my cruise as far as morale is concerned...

please keep your ears open in the windjammer (yes ears dropping is rude but everyone speaks loudly enough to allow you to listen so its alright) -about how the cruise is going :D - i would love to know more so that I can compare it to my cruise :D

Another thing I forgot to mention too you - which might be of interest to you...

During the day - you may notice that the ship doesnt rock as much as the night time?

when i was on the cruise - i noticed that during the day, the ship went slowly and rocking was minimum - but at 9/10pm(ish) it seemed like the bridge "put the pedal to the metal" and we took off at light speed - im suprised the 80 year olds didnt receive whip lash......

Where oh where has my friend gone?

Have you succumbed to the smoke in the casino?

Did you not make it out of your cabin alive when the water cut out during the middle of washing your hair with shampoo because you slipped and hurt yourself?

or perhaps it was the very expensive and highly prized "lanyards" that were being given away which broke the budget to which you cannot reply?

im hoping that you will give me an update for how things are going...

Seriously – how many 70,80,90 year olds use tablets? Or smart devices? But the online booking system does work – sort of for young people like me"

That's rather a sweeping statement! I'm only in my 50's but I find that rather offensive. We are from the UK and our "old people", as you put it, are encouraged to use technology. I know many, many elderly people who are computer savvy. For instance my step mother is 86 and is brilliant, she does all her shopping online and amazes me with the things that she knows. She has an iPad, iphone and a laptop! I'm sorry that you did not enjoy your cruise, obviously Quantum just wasn't the ship for you.

Hi

She Lives. Everything pretty good. I didn't notice the day 4 issue you had. But I often avoid people. ☺ Have not had too many dining disasters except have dined alone more than I wanted to. The best thing I have eaten was the tomato soup from Devinly Decadence. Funny thing I don't generally like tomato soup. I should have ordered something else other than the steak for the main course though. The simple baked apple dessert was good as well. I would cruise a Quantum class ship again but as I said before I am a glutton for punishment. I take well to technology but I do feel for those not as tech savvy. You have to be careful with the generalities as you've seen Quantumcruiser Au. My Mum used to say "It's not what you say but how you say it"

OUCH I really take offence at that. I'm a year off 70. I have a lap top, an I pad, a smart phone,. went to college to learn computer skills. There are a lot of us oldies that can give you a run for your money any day. Age is all in the mind yes our bodies might be wearing out but unless god forbid you have health problems don't write us off. I cant wait to get on Anthem and apart from climbing the rock wall and the flow rider I'm going to give it all a go.

You go girl. I think the new generations of cruisers need to be reminded that us old folks make up the largest population of cruisers. I am also sailing on Q of S this year. I am happy that RC is improving their service on this ship but it is our reviews that for the most part are causing the changes

You really hit a nerve with me and I'm sure many others who don't want to waste their time addressing your comment. I am 70 1/2. I too have an iPad2, iphone6, and PC and am very tech savvy. I take classes at the Apple Store so that I am up to date on all the new features. I have relatives, friends, and neighbors calling me to help them out with some tech problems on their devices and most of them are much younger. I do all banking, bill paying, ordering on line and even booking cruises. PLEASE don't say it's the old that don't get the technology, it's probably people of all ages that either don't like or don't get the technology or are too lazy to learn something new.

Baby Boomers Rule the World! and we're not dead yet. And we're just getting into peak cruising years, so the lines HAVE to cater to us still, or risk the wrath of their shareholders.
