FLL closing at 7:00pm

Recommended Posts

Anyone booked on a flight into FLL for the next 48 hours or so should contact their carrier. Most flights inbound have already been cancelled, and rumour has it that they are moving up outbound times to get the planes out asap.

Southwest's last flight left FLL at 3:09pm local time. Southwest at PBI is also shut down. They hope to be flying again around noon tomorrow.

And this is a Category 1 that when she makes land fall any minutes now since she has no eye to determine with a rule where her center is like the guy on Weather Channel did. So in a n hour or so she will be back to a TS til tomorrow when she hits the Gulf & warm water to strengthen to hit Tallahasse area on Sunday. Then CLE on Wednesday, we hope...........

Probably not, most airlines move all of thier planes out of a city when a hurricane moves in. You have to wait until the FAA clears the airport to open which means the winds have to die down for the planes to come back in. My guess is the planes will start coming back in tomorrow night or Saturday morning.

They say they're going to try to open FLL at 9am tomorrow, but even if they do manage to open that early it's going to take some time for the airlines to get their flight schedules back to normal. There may be a few flights tomorrow, but I would think Saturday would be a better bet.
