Brisbane docking point

Hi.

 

Im travelling on the celebrity solstice and was wondering if anyone knew the location you dock at Brisbane and how far away it is from the Gold Coast. We arrive at 7am and leave at 6pm and was wondering if this is enough time to do a skydive?

Unfortunately with Solstice you dock at the Grain Wharf, which is the furthest wharf out. It isn't just the distance, but the remoteness in that there aren't alternative transport options apart from shuttles organised by cruise line and taxis specially for the day.

 

That time is enough to go to the Gold coast and, for example, you will find ship tours that go to attractions there. However, if planning to organise independently you will find it difficult for car hire as again there is nothing nearby. Having to rely on taxis makes it more costly then (it is about 1.5 hours in good driving conditions away) as well as complicated if you want to get to a car rental place. Extra connections add risk and time, and traffic can be bad on that run at times.

 

So, yes, if determined and confident and not too worried about cost you could do it, but it's not easy unless you can find an excursion or have a friend who can take you.
