Luv2cruisewithtwins Posted January 10, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 10, 2015 I understand if you are booked for the Illusion show & dinner, the concierge will walk you down giving you first choice of seats..... I am ready to book.... I need your help.... Do I want Banquet or Floor?
Rare Dr. Cocktail Posted January 10, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2015 The closer and more central the better. The banquets are too far away. And.......don't be afraid to politely decline where they first seat you. We were among the first escorted down and were taken to terrible seats. Speak up quickly .... On our sailing, the Haven guests really did take up all the prime site line seats.
cruisebie Posted January 10, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 10, 2015 The floor seats are closer to the stage area and you will have a good view of the overhead area. I was in the Haven last October and our concierge, Ruth, escorted us down a service elevator that exited right at the Illusionarium. Once there, they did assign us tables, but Haven guests entered first. So, if you opted for the banquet seats, you would probably be assigned at the front of that area instead of the back. Also, the magicians chose volunteers from both areas. Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
Luv2cruisewithtwins Posted January 10, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted January 10, 2015 Thank you One other question..... We didn't buy our Dining Plan yet becasue the free promotion came out after we paid in full :( If we book the Illusion now, they will charge me. **When and if I buy the Dining plan, will they reimburse me as the Illusion on the first night is free????????? Wasn't fond of hr at first but then realized she was very nice once you broke down her walls. I'm actually hoping she will be on the Getaway when I sail n October. Yes, I was on the Getaway last October and Ruth was the concierge. I thought she hit just the right note as concierge. She was always ready to help when needed and always had a pleasant word as I came by the concierge desk going into the Haven. She was a bit reserved, but very nice. I also loved her assistant Karen. She was so sweet! All in all, a very top notch concierge team on the Getaway. I hope they are all still there when I go back on the Getaway in November. I don't know the answer to this, but I haven't seen anyone talk about getting reimbursed on here. I think you could go ahead & purchase the UDP now and then make your reservation. Or you could wait until you get on board and purchase your UDP and make your reservation through the concierge. How will be know where to meet? Thanks! Your concierge will let you know where and when to meet. They usually leave notes for you a day or two before. For ex: you will receive a letter in your cabin about priority tendering, priority disembarkation, priority private tour of the chocolate buffet, etc..... They usually take you in the "secret" elevators. A major "suite"perk!
