Hairy Dog Cruiser Posted January 11, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2015 Has anyone cruised the week of Easter? Was it really full of kids and families? Trying to plan vacation and not sure if this week would work.
CruisingwithAutism Posted January 11, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 11, 2015 Our spring break is that week. (And many other counties in Alabama.) I would guess a lot of families with children will cruise then. cb at sea Posted January 11, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 11, 2015 We've sailed over Easter a couple of times...no different than any other time....except there's an Easter Egg hunt!
k2excursion Posted January 11, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 11, 2015 Some schools are out then, but more are not. March is the most common Spring Break month, and Easter usually is in April. Here in the "Bible belt", we don't take any days off around Easter. There will be plenty of kids on board, but about the same as any time in March through mid-April. If you cruise out of Galveston, Texas' Spring Break is in the early part of March, then Oklahoma/Arkansas is the next week. After that, it's a normal schools-in-session crowd on board the ships. poundcake09 Posted January 11, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 11, 2015 I'm here in Georgia, I booked for Easter week. At the time I didn't even know or think about Easter. It's also Spring Break for most school systems in Georgia also. Now, I have to find Easter Decorations for My Door. I can't wait 83 More days! Drazil65 Posted January 11, 2015 #7 Share Posted January 11, 2015 Went on cruise a few years ago during spring break (attached to Easter holiday that year) and that was the first and last time for spring break for us. We have kids but it was over run with kids gone wild and the annoying type at that. Seemed like a lot of the parents were using the whole ship as a substitute babysitter at the time. Just crazy! Seems like way too many kids were just running the ship unsupervised that week. Irresponsible parents apparently and unfortunately that reflects on the behavior of the kids. Was just too way too much for us so that is a week we stay away from. Good Luck!!!!
Cruising4 Posted January 12, 2015 #8 Share Posted January 12, 2015 We were on NCL Epic last year Easter Week. Kids outnumbered adults. If you were looking forward to relaxing by the main pool, pick another week. It will be kiddie city!
flips7 Posted January 12, 2015 #9 Share Posted January 12, 2015 We have been on a cruise the last 3 Easters. There are more kids than usual but not to the point we could not enjoy our cruise or that they out numbered adults. If you really hate having kids around pick another week. amyh13 Posted January 12, 2015 #10 Share Posted January 12, 2015 Has anyone cruised the week of Easter? Was it really full of kids and families? Trying to plan vacation and not sure if this week would work. We leave on April 4 for our 3rd consecutive spring break cruise. It has been the exact week all three years (Georgia). This year over easter, last 2 years, not easter.
GaMtnMom Posted January 12, 2015 #11 Share Posted January 12, 2015 We will be boarding the Liberty on Easter Sunday in San Juan. We had no idea it was Easter when we booked. Didn't realize it until a few weeks before Christmas! Lol. I knew it was spring break for us and a lot of others. Now I know why airfare and hotels are so expensive for the weekend we leave.
