So I am considering booking a Haven suite that includes the Freestyle triple promotion. The question I have is with the drink package exclusion for room service. If poolside in the Haven can you not get a drink on the package without walking to a bar?

If your poolside and there is a waiter, then you can get a drink. Room service is when you ask for drinks brought to your room. If there is no waiter, then you have to go to the bar and order your drink.

You should call NCL regarding the Haven since there is no waiter poolside in the Haven

There is a gentlemen who handles the needs of the guests in the Haven but is not considered a waiter

I am sure you will be covered if you order a beverage from him since I have ordered from him in the past and he did charge us. I guess if he can charge for the drinks he can handle the UBP transaction

The UDP and UBP do not cover "room service". Having a beverage brought to your cabin, or a specialty restaurant meal for in suite dining count as room service.

You should call NCL regarding the Haven since there is no waiter poolside in the Haven

 

Definitely check with NCL, but there is a Courtyard Steward, and he/she absolutely covers make of the duties you'd ascribe to a waiter. He/she takes food and beverage orders and brings them to you in the Courtyard... like all day.

Yes I am specifically speaking to the courtyard waiter that is there all day. I am aware that anything in the cabin is not covered. Two calls to NCL have been unable to yield an answer.

If there is no bar, then whether its the attendant in the Haven or the Butler, they both would have to go to a bar somewhere on the ship to get your drink. I think it would be the same as room service. Your best answer is going to come from the onboard staff.

We ordered from the courtyard steward last summer on the gem and it was no issue regarding the UBP. His attitude on the other hand was something else....

 

I'm still mad I didn't speak to Carlos about him.

I would think that it is no different than ordering a drink from a waiter by the regular pool.

 

But you may want to check when you order the drink just to be sure.
