Anyone dock at Dunmore East and go to Kilkenny, Ireland?

I think you have 2 options. Hire a car or take a train.

If you are comfortable with driving on the left side of the road, then the car is probably best. Taxi from Dunmore East to Waterford Airport (about euro 25); Car hire through Hertz; drive to Kilkenny - less than 1 hour. For the return, do it all in reverse. There are other car hire firms but all close at 5.30pm or 6 pm.

For the train, you would need to take taxi or bus to Waterford, then train to Kilkenny. The timings aren't great. here's a link to the timetable:

you will get to Kilkenny at 11.34, but have to leave at 4.40 pm

We face the same dilemma. We'll be on the Silhouette for the BI sailing in June, and have decided to split a cab with another couple. The bus to Waterford / train to Kilkenny option doesn't leave much time in Kilkenny. My husband doesn't want to rent a car, however I think I'm going to call Hertz anyway and ask if they'd consider dropping off the car at Dunmore East.
