Drinks in Theatre

Although my row was full, half of the row behind me was empty. Felt a bit like "can't be bothered going to the other side of the theatre and then halfway along the row behind......also cant be bothered alerting my co-worker on the other side".

I'm still not clear what happened. Did you signal to a server and they responded by saying they wouldn't serve you, and they wouldn't send anyone else to serve you? Was this before the show, lights still on, or after the show had started?
