El Yunque

Any suggestions for seeing El Yunque? We'll be in port from 7-3:30 and I know traffic can be crazy in San Juan. We are wondering if we should just book with the ship or should we go with a private tour? If so, any suggestions?

Hi! We booked a tour to see El Yunque through Kayaking Puerto Rico (our tour also included a biobay kayak, but you can just do one part). We liked having the tour because they picked us up and made sure we saw all the scenic points.

 

Our experience was a little different because we did El Yunque from land (we stayed in PR a couple days pre-cruise), but I wrote about it in my Valor review on another board. The link is below.

 

It's definitely worth going - since El Yunque is the only national park in the US park system. :)
