Newbies cruising New Orleans to Boston

Hi, hubby and I are doing this cruise, only cruised once before but not in this region.

Travelling from uk for 3 nts NO pre cruise, and 2 nts Boston after cruise.

 

Looking for any advice and tips please..

 

Things we can't miss in New Orleans?

 

Excursions...should be book with NCL, or take a taxi when at ports??

 

Any help greatly appreciated

Welcome to Cruise Critic.

 

I am not a fan of ship tours. I find them expensive, crowded and slow. I would suggest doing some research to find what you want to do in each port.

 

Also, have you joined the Roll Call for your cruise? There you may find people planning private tours with room for more people .

Dinner at Brigsten's in NOLA and BBQed shrimp at Pascal Manale's. Check them out on Trip Advisor..

And try a Sazerac cocktail.
