Almost Packed Posted February 13, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 13, 2015 sounds like a great stress free way to begin and end your cruise. room, breakfast, transportation to and from airport and port...that's great. it's a decent drive from hobby to Galveston. for a group of 4, I think that's reasonable. we have in the past, rented a car one way from hobby and dropped it off in Galveston, then they shuttled us to the pier. that was the cheapest way we found of doing it. that was back in 2007 and I do not remember who we used. I'm sure you could find cheaper ways of doing it, but your way includes a lot less stress I would think. have fun!
Starry Eyes Posted February 13, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 13, 2015 That seems like a reasonable choice, depending upon how much time you have on your pre-cruise day and how you'd like to spend the time. If I had an early arriving flight the day before my cruise, I might well hope to do a lot that day. Maybe the space center or a museum or Galleria mall or sightseeing on Galveston Island. I don't think there much to see right at Hobby, so I might not stay at a Hobby hotel if I wanted to get out and play tourist. In such a case, I'd be looking at other options. On the other hand, if I had a late arriving flight the evening before the cruise, I'd probably just want dinner and a basic hotel near airport, with transit set for the cruise port the next morning. Maybe the same choice if my group did not wish to sightsee pre-cruise, but just enjoy each other's company at hotel and dinner.

dancingranni Posted February 14, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted February 14, 2015 This is at the La Quinta Inn and Suites Houston Hobby Airport. It is their cruise&stay pkg. I don't think it's anything fancy, but it will do us just fine for an overnight sleep and transportation . For us it's "....all about that cruise.....bout that cruise....no hassle." 😁
