Seeking advice from beach lovers st. Thomas

Problem...............My husband I have been to St.Thomas many times. But we do not go to the beach.......ever. Next month we are taking my daughter, son in law and grandchild with us on the Regal, and they want to take a beach excursion when the ship docks in St.Thomas.

Can anyone recommend a beach that a young couple with a four year old would enjoy in St.Thomas? They will book with Princess.

Thank you for any information you may offer.

Megan's Bay is the most popular but Emerald Beach at the Best Western Beach Resort is closest to Crown Bay where the ship will probably dock. Because it's a resort there are amenities available. Google the resort for more info. It's a short cab ride.

The "must go" beach for first time visitors is Magens Bay. Shouldn't be difficult to find an excursion or transportation there. It will be crowded, as it will be the "must go" beach for others as well. But crowds notwithstanding, it is a nice beach. Google it to find some photos.

I've been numerous times to Magens, but to me it's over-rated. It's not the "clearest" water..sometimes it gets a bit murky. I really liked Coki Beach (about a 20-25 minute taxi ride). The water is very clear and there is some nice snorkelling around the rocks area where you can just walk right in up to your waste (or even less). You can also rent chairs and umbrella's there. There may be an entrance fee (a small one), but I've never been charged that. Just around the end and past the rocks is the marine park and observatory, which is also very nice. The observatory is set right into the ocean, and you can see through the glass windows the marine life in it's natural habit. there are also other exhibits there. I don't remember the cost, but they do have a website. I believe it is called Coral World.

I also think the cab ride cost us about $10 each (plus tip). Someone else can probably verify that.
