Carnival "Elite" Cruise

For those that have been on the Elite Cruise (offered through The Players Club) in the past. Do they comp your entire bar bill (even if buying rounds of drinks and shots for friends)? My bar bill is always well over $1000 and this will probably be the deciding factor between me taking the Premier Cruise with a comped cabin and $1000 cash and the Elite Cruise with a comped cabin and no cash. My bar bill will offset the $1000 cash and I'll get to see what this Elite Cruise is all about.

If it's like that Cheers program they have (which I never get) with all the restrictions and limits I'll stick with the Premier offer and pay for all the drinks I order.

If you are on an Elite offer do you not get the "Drinks on Us" card?. I just got off a premiere cruise and the Drinks on us was included so I am assuming the elite is one up and the card is included. Also I read on here the Elite cruise I believe included your drinks not only in the casino but everywhere on the ship . You should call to verify .

I haven't been on one, but I think last year someone said it included all drinks. I missed out on the elite cruise last year, as I didnt respond as soon as I got the email and a few hours later all three cruises were sold out. Today I got the offer and neither date is good for me. The offer states "complimentary drinks*" whether that means all drinks??? I hope you responded right away if you want it. They fill up quick.

Yes, the drinks are included everywhere on the ship but I'm not interested if they're giving me hassle for buying rounds and telling me what I can and can't purchase for who and telling me I have to wait a certain amount of time between drinks.

I emailed Martin and Lilian last night and waiting for a response.

I'm always buying rounds of shots and drinks at the bars or tables and wont be keeping track of my drink bill or who I'm buying them for whether the casino department is paying or I'm paying. I'm curious as to how they'll figure out what to cover and what not to cover. It's not my idea of vacation if I'm worrying about keeping track of drinks ordered and getting told what I can and can't order and when how far apart I can order my drinks. That's the reason I NEVER get the cheers package. This deal will work out about the same as my Premier offer if I have no restrictions on drinks but my Premier offer is definitely better if they're telling me what I can order and when I can order it.

I would ask the casino dept directly. I know with regular drinks on us card, it is only one drink every 15 minutes. I would think with the elite offer, if it is unlimited drinks anywhere, it would probably be one at a time, not rounds of drinks, but no harm in asking. Good luck.

If I am understanding you question. The offer is extended to you and your drinks are included as part of the elite cruise experience. There will be a time between drinks. This varies between 5-15 minutes depending upon what the casino hosts instruct the staff and what the staff chooses to do.

Rounds you may order for others are not included. You could be buying the entire ship drinks if that were the case.

I was on an Elite cruise last September. While playing in the casino, the regular rules associated with the "Drinks on Us" card apply. Outside of the casino, we were told to charge drinks to our room and they would be taken care of. The last day, quite a few people had to track down the VIP casino hosts because their bills had not been adjusted. I know of at least one couple who had a bill in excess of $1000 and they had no issues getting it adjusted.

The Elite cruise also included a paid excursion, dinner at the steak house, cash drawings with $$ amounts that were about double on a Premier cruise and a slot tournament with increases payout. There wew multiple other drawings. The people were alot of fun. Glad I was able to go.

For the past couple of years, my casino offers have been all over the place, from a couple of hundred $$ to the Elite cruise which was an ocean suite + cash. My play/amount of points rarely changes. Like others, I just don't understand the fluctuation.

I sent the email back for the Breeze on March 28, then sent another to cancel that and book the April 12 on the Magic. Does anyone know how long it takes for Martin to respond with whether or not you got the slot?

not really, i have done 25 premiers, elite and ultras

we can literally stand there or even be outside the casino area across the hall playing cards, and we order drinks for others who are playing cards with us that dont have DOU card... we simply have them tell waiter waitress what they want.. the bar staff do not care.. as long as you have a card to cover the drink

part of their job is not to watach who drinks the drink and they in fact, dont care who does, as i mentioned... they know you are ordering for others, and its not an issue

maybe things have loosened up a bit

I was on the Breeze in April with my husband and the casino staff would bring us both drinks although he was the only one with the DOU card. They were the ones to offer too! So you are very right about them not caring.

and this is a problem why? Do you suggest a duplicate thread instead??

You can't win either way. Had you started a new one, people would say "Do a search! There are threads on this already!" but when you do that they complain about resurrecting old threads.

Well, there was a change since this thread was created. There is a 15 drink limit per day on the drinks on us card. Elites can use the card anywhere on the ship, where Premiers can only use it while on the casino floor. Now, the OP could still order all the drinks he wanted, but they would bring the receipt to sign with his one drink free and charges for the others. They handle it per drink order so he wouldn't need to worry "about keeping track of drinks ordered and getting told what I can and can't order and when how far apart I can order my drinks."
