Carnival Sunshine Deck 5 Ocean View Cabins

Hi all,

 

We are cruising the Sunshine on 3/28 and are currently booked in an ocean view cabin on deck 1 mid-ship (cabin 1523). I have noticed a few comments about the "new" cabins on deck 5, which were built during the upgrade of this ship. I was considering upgrading to one of these cabins (cabin 5307 for example). Being so new, there are not many reviews of these particular cabins so I was hoping some people had feedback. The obvious advantages are the proximity to all the action (a deck or two away from food, pool, entertainment). My main concerns are:

1. Noise level - the cabins are below other cabins (good) and above a dining room (also good as it will be empty at night), but on the same floor as the casino and some bars.

2. Feeling the ships movement - these cabins are all the way in the back of the boat, and on a higher floor than where I am currently booked so I know it will be a little greater, but how much is the question.

 

Any feedback on these cabins would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the reply. 3143 is one of the "new" cabins on deck 3, though. Hopefully whatever is going on in that room is just an isolated incident.

^^^ this guy (mattjs) stayed in an aft balcony cabin on deck 5... there are also pictures... I will be staying in an OV on deck 5 in May so I have been looking for reviews about these cabins as well... I also liked the fact that the newer cabins have a fridge in them :D

 

I do not recall mattjs complaining about any noise from the elevators or bar area... hope this helps! :)

Thanks for the reply. I just read through that post. I am leaning towards making the switch...the fridge is a bonus too!

We just returned from the Sunshine and had an ocean view cabin on deck 5.

We LOVED the location. We were worried about noice but once the cabin

Door shut we didn't hear anything. The refrigerator was great also.

We would book this location again.

That's great to hear. We ended up making the switch to Deck 5 OV. Sounds like it's gonna be the right choice!
