It took me most of the day but I read through all the pages of your review and once again, thank you!!! We're booked on Escape in December 2015 so this was the closest I could find to relate to the Escape.

I might mention, being that we live in Miami, your description of the Metrorail Orange Line from the airport is right on. There is also a 'Metromover' in downtown Miami (about a block from the Brickell Metrorail station) that is FREE and goes directly to Bayfront Park. It is called the Brickell Loop and is quick and easy to get around downtown Miami. The Bayfront Park station is directly in front of the Intercontinental Hotel for those folks staying there.

Looking forward to your review of the Escape so we can compare notes.

Many thanks for the feedback. The additional information you gave about the Metromover is also appreciated.

I am excited about the Escape but concerned about the apparent reduction in the size of the aft balconies; an indulgence for once because I have a friend travelling with me on that trip.

Kind regards

Thanks thanks thanks! I loved this and also spent the better part of the day reading through everything. Every word. I loved it and appreciate your efforts. My family booked a Cruise on Getaway for May 2 on the spur of the moment yesterday and I felt very illl prepared. Now I have a much better idea about the entire proceedings. I will always be grateful!

A few queries....

1) is Vibe adults only?

2) is Spice h2o party adults only?

3) do you NEED to have table reservations for the MDR restaurants- Taste, Savour etc? Or is it reasonable to assume a table of 4 would be ready whenever we were?

4) the evening entertainment needs a pre-booking? Does it often "sell out"?

Thanks again for a monumental effort that is wholly appreciated!

Many thanks for your kind comments. I will try to answer your questions:

1) Yes

2) There were loads of kids present and in clear view.

3) Depending on when you arrive and you will either be seated quickly or may have a short wait.

4) Some of the shows require a booking. Popular shows do sell out but sometimes you can standby for no-shows. I would recommend booking all main shows before your cruise; or on Day 1 to avoid disappointment.

Kind regards

megacruiser-thank you for your in depth review and photos. You have sold me on the Vibe and LeBistro! This will be our second NCL cruise and your review has helped us decide on the Getaway!

Following every post-your efforts are much appreciated!

I am always delighted to hear if my review has been helpful. Thanks for taking the time to let me know.

Fantastic review!!! I've been reading for hours. Thank you so much for spending your time on this for all of us. I'm in a studio on the Getaway this July ...1st time solo and now so very excited. The photos were amazing. Appreciate again all your hard work!

Thank you! Loving your review so far... I'm only on page 14. Thanks so much for the dalies.. those really help for 'planners' like me :) I've been on the Epic so I'm familiar with the studios. I'm excited to try all 4 of the ships.

 I thought I'd note that studio rooms are $422 right now for the Dec 4, 2016 and Dec 11, 2016 sailings. I booked both and will decide later or do both for those prices.

a marketing brand for the Angus breed, which originates in Aberdeenshire here in Scotland.

Ohhhh... I'll be in Scotland in a little over 2 months. Probably only to Edinburgh where the tour ends, but possible Glasgow... I'm still airfare shopping. I plan to do a Scotland only tour one day but I'm ready to do some do-nothing cruising after this next on-the-go land tour.

Since you are across the pond, are you by chance taking the maiden voyage on the Escape (I'm still reading if you mentioned this).

I am a little late to the party but I wanted to thank you for posting such a lovely detailed review. My 11-year-old daughter has now learned the meaning of the word "food porn" after your descriptions and photos from the Chef's Table and she is disappointed that she will not be able to partake!

I also wanted to thank you for including pics of the menus that list the prices for Super Premium spirits. The prices of those can be hard to find!

I had a question, and perhaps either you or someone else can speak to this: on the menu in Ocean Blue it lists the Red Velvet drink, which is made from a Framboise Lambic and champagne. Does anyone know if that drink is exclusively available from Ocean Blue or will I be able to order it elsewhere on the ship? I do not enjoy seafood and so have no interest in eating at Ocean Blue, but love raspberry labmic!

Nice review. I have been on her already and like you I have been on the Oasis and about to go read your review on her. I like you enjoyed the Oasis more. The only thing I liked about the Getaway more is how close it gets you to the ocean. I was booked on the Escape before I sailed the Getaway but thought the two ships are too similar and as I was not the biggest Getaway fan cancelled so will be interested in seeing how you feel about that.

Being from Scotland try to save up! I would love to see a review when the new Oasis class Harmony of the Seas sails. Also if you decide to try Carnival try the new Vista Class they are about to launch. The ship draw ups look amazing and I think the overall vibe of the ship might be up your alley.

Cheers!

Thanks for your review Megacruiser! I was wondering if you had a sense of the average age of the passengers in the studios. Is it a nice mix? Mostly younger/older? I don't want to be the only one over 40!

Thanks!

:o I know this is a dumb trivial question... but I'm wondering.. Getaway studio rooms are in a U shape hall now, rather that a long long long hallway like on the Epic... is the U shape open at both ends to a corridor... or do cabin occupants in the higher numbers have to travel the U to get to the lounge and exit ? :o

Thanks for all your comments. Edinburgh is a stunning city for a tourist to visit. What a setting...

Aer Lingus have good connections via Dublin and on this side of the pond they are very competitively priced. They use comfortable A330 wide body aircraft with ideal 2x4x2 seating. Might be worth looking at...

I am booked on Escape in February 2016.

Many thanks for commenting. I booked Harmony for September 2016 on the day it went on sale. Managed to grab one of the Studios on Deck 4.
