San Juan on the Cheap

There is a freee hop on hop off trolley that drives around San Juan. I would also reccommend the 2 forts, El Morro and San Cristobal. Both are on the trolley route and admission is cheap. $5.00 if I remember correctly, and your admission is for both forts.

The other thing you can do is to get off the ship and go to the left (west) and walk along the water front then down he Paseo de La Princessa where there will be local vendors of crafts and food etc. You will get to a fountain (Raices) then continue up and around the old city walls until you get to the old red city gate and go through then turn left and follow the hill up to El Morro's great Lawn and just enjoy the ambiance of the views and breezes. Then make your way down through the city just wandering through the old cobble stone streets. San Juan is a great city for just exploring the history and charm is everywhere.
