Seayalater Posted September 2, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 2, 2005 We are doing our first Pacific Ocean cruise at the holidays; We've always done the Caribbean in late June/July. Are pools heated? I hear the weather and ocean are colder. Should we pack for cooler; sweaters, pants, etc...rather then shorts and t-shirts. Will the ship look beautiful and festive? I don't like the idea of flying home on Christmas Eve, but am looking frwd to our cruise. Blacony on Caribe Deck thanks, Seayalater
TorontoTL Posted September 2, 2005 #2 Share Posted September 2, 2005 Are you sure you have the correct ship there? I don't think there can be any bookings for the Emerald since the building of it hasn't even started yet. Which ship are you asking about?

Pam in CA Posted September 7, 2005 #4 Share Posted September 7, 2005 We are doing our first Pacific Ocean cruise at the holidays;Great! We're on the cruise right after you, boarding on the 24th.Are pools heated? I hear the weather and ocean are colder. The weather as you depart and return from LA is colder but usually not "cold."Should we pack for cooler; sweaters, pants, etc...rather then shorts and t-shirts.You'll probably be fine in shorts and T-shirts and probably won't need sweaters or pants. It really depends on the weather and the ocean temperature which will be cooler near LA, warmer in Mexico. When we boarded the Caribbean Princess last year in Ft. Lauderdale, it was windy, rainy and cold enough for a sweater or jacket, so you never know. It'll be nice and warm once you get to Mexico. Shorts and t-shirts will be fine. Will the ship look beautiful and festive?Absolutely! There'll be Christmas decorations and it'll look festive, but not so overtly as to offend non-Christians. I don't like the idea of flying home on Christmas Eve, but am looking frwd to our cruise. Blacony on Caribe Deck I don't blame you. We're also in a Caribe balcony cabin and are looking forward to it.
