Moody Gardens Hotel?

Anyone ever stayed at the Moody Gardens Hotel and Convention Center in Galveston? Has a free cruise terminal shuttle, and is $179 for the night. Reviews look very good online...just curious if anyone has ever actually stayed here. Having a VERY hard time finding a hotel that isn't a dump or that doesn't require a two night stay...

Moody Gardens is a very nice hotel. I stayed there for a couple of nights last January for a Sci-Fi/Comic Con. Rooms were nice, beds were comfortable. Restaurant was nice and didn't seem too pricey for an upscale hotel.

 

If you have a car you're just minutes from a lot of really nice restaurants along the seawall. For entertainment, you're right next to Moody Gardens and all that that entails.

 

I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

I was just looking at that. It's $229 per night for our cruise next FEB.
