Not during this one...stay tuned.

Ouch. So, I wonder if Carnival plans to do anything for those cruisers who already booked on the Paradise with anticipation of cruising on a 2.0 cruise ship since that is what all the Carnival plans were indicating?

No 2.0?

Not during this one...stay tuned.

We were on the last sailing before drydock.

If there will be no 2.0 upgrades will the main shows stay the same then?

It was so nice having lots of dancers, props AND the band for the shows. Hate the "new" shows on other Carnival ships we've been on with fewer dancers, video "back drops" and canned music. :(

Major hotel maintenance and public space updates; the casino may have some reconfiguration additions.

My guess would be NOPE!

They should have done their homework and not assumed she was getting 2.0 upgrades.

At the Captains party I sat with Steve ( CD ) for a few, ask him about dry dock & the shows. He told me that the show will stay the same until November & at that time we will see.

I love the shows & often go to the early & late of 8 more seconds. Tony the band leader is a gem so good.

I saw "8 More Seconds" twice on our cruise, mainly because the first time they had a problem with the computer and lighting and they weren't able to perform a few of the songs, so I went back for the late show to see what I had missed. It was a great show and wow, Steve is absolutely awesome on that fiddle, isn't he?! I so wish I could have recorded him playing it, but as per the rules "no photos and no videotaping" darn it all. :)

Personally...I think the Paradise should be put out to pasture and retired.

I hated that ship so much that I will never sail on it again, even if I was offered a free cruise on her.

Wow. Could you elaborate a little on why you "hated" the Paradise so much? This was my 11th cruise and I had a great time on the Paradise. Yes, I saw a bit of "wear and tear" evidence but overall I thought the ship was in great condition for her age. And we were never bored. Stateroom attendant was great. Food was better than I expected it to be. Shows were wonderful. Sun was warm and the sky was blue. What more could a person ask for?

I doubt it. We were booked on the Liberty (2.0) and they swapped the ship to the Valor (0.0) and CCL didn't do anything for us. We paid for the 2.0 and are getting a lesser ship. I realize we could have canceled or other options, but the itinerary is what we wanted. The Valor is a nice ship, so we'll sail on her.

OUTSTANDING! That means I'm gonna have to book at least one or two more cruises aboard the FANTASTIC "Paradise", before they screw up those GREAT shows. Come on Char. Let's get bookin'. ;)

"SKY"

SkyMaster you should book with our group on the May 7th cruise, I need another pilot I can talk shop with haha.

Ps. Do you really have a skymaster? I've only seen one in person and I've always wanted to fly one, one of my favorite planes :)

I have sailed the Carnival Paradise alot when this ship was new, and sailed out of Miami...at that time this ship was the non-smoking ship.... then i believe it went out to california for a while....this last time i sailed the Paradise out of Tampa to western caribbean and was very disappointed with how the ship was kept up....our cabin and cabin steward were fine, food was better than i expected...shows were good...but the downfall was when i got up to the pool deck area....first of all the pool water was green....looked like the water need a good cleaning and some chlorine....hot tubs were bombarded with young kids, using it like a swimming pool...could not enjoy...i went up to the higher deck where there was another pool, with hot tubs....it was disgusting...the pool looked like it was never cleaned...it had all bugs floating on top of the water...and a big rope sunk to the bottom of the pool....hot tubs were freezing cold...let alone all the loungers were covered with soot.... believe me what a disappointment....the last sea day was when i discovered the adult area....which was fine.... for what i paid for this 5 night cruise was a rip off.... yes i would sail carnival again, as i am a platium member....but i would not sail this ship again, until it went into dry dock, and was updated and new furnishings..... also the wait staff in the dining room was excellent....food was always hot...a new thing that i did enjoy was the brunch at sea...that was a nice new perk...
