Travelalot2 Posted September 3, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 3, 2005 We are considering increasing our group size on our prebooked tours with Sylvis de Cristo and Limo in Rome. However, we don't want to be stuffed in the van like sardines. Has anyone toured with a group of 8 (plus the guide) with these guides?
pcur Posted September 4, 2005 #2 Share Posted September 4, 2005 Not with them, but with Max Leona in a large Mercedes. It was a tight squeeze with 6 people, but we were OK because we were popping in and out all day. The ride to and from Livorno is about 1 1/2 hours, so that's the uncomfortable part if you're squished. A van with 8 will be snug but doable, IMO. Turtle Derf Posted September 17, 2005 #3 Share Posted September 17, 2005 We (4 people) did 3 tours last week (Villefranche, Florence & Rome) in a private van for 8 and if the van is advertised as an 8 passenger that means a 3rd row bench that seats 3, a second row bench that holds 3 and a front that takes the driver and 1 passenger with a small jump like seat in the middle. I can not imagine squeezing 8 into one of those and being anywhere near comfortable. If everyone is a skinny-mini maybe but one of us is 6' 9" and 2 others fell into the "Large Marge" catagory.
