janny444 Posted March 4, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 4, 2015 We have only done fly cruises with P&O to the Caribbean and know what the procedure is regarding luggage...after checking in at airport don't see the suitcases until brought to the cabin and no customs to go through...great. My question is...does the same procedure apply on a fly cruise to the Mediterranean...check in your cases and do not see them until brought to the cabin and no customs to go through or is it a different procedure? balf Posted March 4, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 4, 2015 If it's an exclusive charter flight, yes. When we flew to Rome last summer the flight was with Eazyjet so we had to collect the cases. David
janny444 Posted March 4, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted March 4, 2015 Thank you balf for your reply. When we did a fly cruise to the Med...not with P&O...we had an exclusive flight but still had to collect our own luggage and go through customs. Rare dronnygirl Posted March 4, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 4, 2015 We have booked Oceana and are flying to Italy. We have been advised the flight from Birmingham is with Thomsons and the luggage will be checked straight through. Hope this helps, not sure if this applies to all airports. themanwithahat Posted March 4, 2015 #5 Share Posted March 4, 2015 We went on one of the early ones (Ventura) and cases were pretty much the same as Southampton - check in at the airport, they appear in your room. Then you leave them outside your cabin on the last night, the next time you see them is on the carousel.
