srlafleur Posted March 9, 2015 #76 Share Posted March 9, 2015 Generally the menu looks great. Some new additions and several old favorites. One thing I will miss, however, is that they no longer have chicken strips as an appetizer. They also removed them from ships that have Guy's Burgers, so one of my favorites has gone the way of the grilled cheese triangles that I also miss. Overall, though, a good menu. Maybe the chicken strips are available from the kids' menu? (just speculating...can someone confirm?)
planetcadillac Posted March 9, 2015 #77 Share Posted March 9, 2015 These menus look a lot better than the ones that they started out with last year. They seem to have found a nice balance mixing new items with favorites people like!
PinaCarada Posted March 9, 2015 Author #78 Share Posted March 9, 2015 Maybe the chicken strips are available from the kids' menu?(just speculating...can someone confirm?) As of now, it looks like the kids' menu has chicken nuggets, not chicken strips. I'm sure they're still tweaking though, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for all you chicken-strip fans. Rare Buffettfan 225 Posted March 9, 2015 #79 Share Posted March 9, 2015 Maybe the chicken strips are available from the kids' menu?(just speculating...can someone confirm?) Looked at children's American Table just chicken nuggets. Maybe they are better than they sound?
eng4 Posted March 9, 2015 #80 Share Posted March 9, 2015 I really liked the chicken strips on the lido deck also but I love Guys burgers. Wish they would bring the chicken strips back somewhere.
MissCruiseAddict Posted March 10, 2015 #81 Share Posted March 10, 2015 Just off the Breeze yesterday. It was an 8 nighter and the Bitter and Blanc was still on there. I think the new menu is meh and just alright but I felt the same way about the old menus. There was only one night, the last night, that nothing caught my eye to eat so I splurged on a 20 dollar NY Strip. The cold soups were on the menu too so Carnival did bring those back. There are some yummy additions to these new menus. I loved the Mahi Mahi from the Miami port of call menu. The Mojito chicken was excellent too. It was on the port of call menu but I forget from which island. And, also from the port of call menu, there were these beef skewers that were AMAZING! So tender and seasoned so well. I didn't care for the mussels that they had one night, probably the worst I've ever had. A few of the pasta dishes were not good either.
keelyhealthnut Posted March 13, 2015 #82 Share Posted March 13, 2015 Does anybody happen to know if you can get the caesar salad w/ or w/o anchovy like you could the old menu?
ccruisequeen Posted March 13, 2015 #83 Share Posted March 13, 2015 I can't eat anchovies so I place a special order of the low fat dressing.
sjn911 Posted March 13, 2015 #84 Share Posted March 13, 2015 (edited) Thanks for posting! We enjoyed these menus on the Liberty last year, and for the life of me, I can't understand why some people are upset over them. Most of the old favorites are still available. After finally reading a full seven day...I am happy with it..old favorites and some new things people rave about..happy....so glad you thought it was good!! I was sad about no cold soups..,,they are back in, seems like more entrée variety, plus the 2 specials for each port and lots of basics and sides....very nice menu. OP thanks so much for the time to do all this...it really helps to see a seven day... Sarah Edited March 13, 2015 by sjn911
CMOTO Posted March 13, 2015 #85 Share Posted March 13, 2015 It's been a few years since I have been on a cruise with Carnival.. Can you still order 2 or more things of the menu?? Example.... I would order 2 shrimps for my app and then my husband ordered 2 lobsters. Just wondering if you can still do this?

Jenny in TX Posted March 13, 2015 #88 Share Posted March 13, 2015 Just got Glory Feb 28th with American Table and had most of these items. I'm kicking myself because I may have missed Bitter and Blanc. We had a bread pudding listed but it was not called B&B. Oh well. Anyway, I found the hot soups to be lacking in flavor over past cruises and NOBODY at our table liked the breaded fried shrimp that we had the first night. It was mostly breading. With that being said, the flatbread was FANTASTIC, especially the bar b q chicken one. Several times we requested entrees as appetizers...cannelloni, lasagna, and ravioli can all be served in a smaller portion. We will be on the Glory in April and I had asked on John Healds blog if there was still Bitter & Blanc because I have heard conflicting reports. The answer is below: "Hello Jennifer, The chef has responded and confirmed that the ships that are now offering the American Table do not do the Bitter & Blanc. However, if you speak to the Maitr'D onboard they maybe able to do it as a special request. Sincerely, Shane Ryan Online Community Specialist Carnival Cruise Line | 3655 NW 87th Avenue | Miami, FL 33178 |" I will ask about it when I get onboard, and be thrilled if I can get it but it definitely won't ruin my cruise if I don't. Stateroom_Sailor Posted March 13, 2015 #90 Share Posted March 13, 2015 I've been hoping the American Table would go away, but the new menu's look pretty good. They've brought back the chilled soups! :)

Example.... I would order 2 shrimps for my app and then my husband ordered 2 lobsters. Just wondering if you can still do this? AS a poster confirmed yes, but you can also be creative and some entrees can become appetizers (pasta usually) and I also ask for say two appetizers and make it my entree (like say shrimp appetizer when nothing else caught my eye that night.) You can have as much of anything you like--we always ask for two ice creams with HMC dessert and at times order three desserts between two of us. RPhCruiser Posted March 13, 2015 #93 Share Posted March 13, 2015 It's been some years since we've been on a cruise, but this looks really good! I'm curious to see if they will have "port of call" menus for all the islands on the Southern Caribbean itinerary. I'll find out in 3 weeks!:D
arby70 Posted March 13, 2015 #94 Share Posted March 13, 2015 Yes, thank you so much for taking the time to type up this extensive week of menus for us. I am looking forward to trying the new menus this next year. I am sure they will be on the Magic by my cruise time.
jarand Posted March 14, 2015 #95 Share Posted March 14, 2015 Ugh. This menu is going to make it harder than ever not to pack on a few pounds on my next cruise. Thanks for the warning! :)
debonaire1998 Posted March 14, 2015 #96 Share Posted March 14, 2015 At the risk of sounding completely ignorant, what is bitter and blanc? I've been on a few Carnival cruises, but can't seem to remember this item. Thanks.

I've been on a few Carnival cruises, but can't seem to remember this item. Thanks. It's a vanilla bread pudding with swirls of chocolate. My biggest complaint about the old menus was that they always served bitter and blanc the same night they served Tiramisu.:( BTW, my youngest son absolutely loves the Nutella Tiramisu on the American Table menu. Mostly he's mad that he went 14 years in life before discovering Nutella.:p Edited March 14, 2015 by nybumpkin
happy cruzin Posted March 14, 2015 #98 Share Posted March 14, 2015 Good morning everyone! JH just announced the list of the next ships to receive the American Table menu. Here they are, in order: Carnival Magic Carnival Triumph Carnival Dream Carnival Pride Carnival Conquest Carnival Splendor Carnival Miracle Carnival Sunshine He said that he does not have specific dates yet but will share them when he does. Hmm....kinda surprised not to see the Victory on the "short list" - since she's coming out of a dry dock this month. Seemed like the perfect time to switch her over....but I guess not.
