RobinKY Posted March 5, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2015 Just booked CCL Elation out of NOLA end of April. My wife wants to do a couple days pre cruise in New Orleans. Prices for downtown & French 1/4 - $150+ per night. I saw a casino hotel in Biloxi for around $100. We both enjoy casinos and the bar-restaurants at casino resorts. Plus pools to enjoy during the day. Anyone with advice on Biloxi and the casino resorts there? I've never been.
subieroo Posted March 6, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 6, 2015 I live and work in Biloxi. If your looking for the casino pools/bar etc..then you've found your place. I would recommend the Beau Rivage, Hard Rock and Golden Nugget. Plus, it's only an hour drive to Nola. Be sure to try some of the local seafood restaurants. jgmpuma Posted March 6, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 6, 2015 The Palace (both hotel and casino) is smoke-free. That's a big plus for some people, and they have $3 blackjack.

The rate I found for the Biloxi hotels-casino was on Hotwire, so I don't know the name of the hotels. One was listed at $124/night discounted to $80 and the reviews were mixed. A lot of comments on very smoky, rude staff. The other hotel-casino was listed at $120 discounted to $96. The reviews were better - older hotel but nicely appointed seemed to the theme. From my initial research, it seems there maybe 7-10 hotel-casinos in Biloxi. Any that I should stay clear of? Of course if I use Hotwire I wont know which one I am getting. luvnola66 Posted March 6, 2015 #5 Share Posted March 6, 2015 If you have never been to New Orleans it is a must do. If you like gambling there is a Harrah's Casino.
RobinKY Posted March 9, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted March 9, 2015 I got a room at Harrah's Gulf Coast for 2 days prior to cruise out of NOLA. What are some good restaurants around Harrah's that are known for more than seafood? My wife likes seafood but I don't. Looking for a good steak, ribs or even good pub type food? subieroo Posted March 9, 2015 #7 Share Posted March 9, 2015 Check out the Half Shell Oyster House on Lameuse Street. They have a good selection of everything but some of the best seafood on the coast!! Harrah's is nice since being re-done. For seafood you can also check out Snappers seafood at Rodenburg Ave and Beach Blvd or The Reef about 2 blocks to the west of there.
