Safe for mom & toddler?!?!

Our cruise ship will stop in Belize - My husband and son are doing the cave tubing - my daughter (2) and I will be on the ship - do you think it is worth it for us to get on the tender and go over to the island? Is it safe if we stay inside the walls? Thanks!!!

I have a 3 year old and I would just stay on the ship at that port. If you want to shop for something within the walls and just to get off the ship, it is safe. To me, it is not worth it and you can have nice quality time with your 2 year old on the ship while most are out and about in Belize.

First, Belize City is on the mainland. Not an island. But as BrotherCraig pointed out, unless you are going shopping for souvenirs or want to grab some local food and drink, not really anything for a two year old at the cruise center, or in town for that matter. It's a long tender ride to the pier too. However, if you are staying on the ship, have your DH and DS swing by Mojo Chocolate Factory on the pier and pick you (and your DD) up some nice fresh made chocolate stuff--whatever looks good..YUM:)

I just found this thread. My 4 year old daughter and I went to Starfish Island in December. We're into shells, music, and such so we had a wonderful time.
