Local beer

Caybrew is the local beer. It's a lager, think Sam Adams, taste Pabst or Stroh's. They have a light version, think SOL or, heaven forbid Corona light:eek:. There's also a Bock (dark amber-similar to Shiner Bock) made with Cascade hops (darling of many West Coast micro brewers) I think they make a stout every once in a while. Haven't had it, but supposed to 7.5% alcohol, so it's not Guinness...think a Belgian Trippel.

But the beer selection in GC isn't limited to Caybrew. You can find Red Stripe, Hoegaarden, Tuchers, aforementioned Guinness, Stella, Bud et.al.

where I hang out ... Sunset House

Caybrew is the only thing they have on tap .... everything else is bottle or can

I usually will drink the Caybrew "bock" altho I think of it more as just a dark, like Dos XXX dark.

I'm NOT a beer expert or connoisseur but I prefer a 'dark' & the CB 'dark' keeps me happy, I like a local draft when I find it. Never tried their stout but would like to as I've been a Guinness person since 1973 . . . . Special Import .. not the common US stuff.

The bock is a reasonable beer. I found it in cans at Calico Jack's by Public Beach. Also found it on tap at a corner bar near the port. This same bar had the stout in bottles. I believe it's called 345 Stout. I was actually quite impressed by it. So far, these are the best 2 beers I've had in the Caribbean, where one usually has to make due with lighter fare.
