seaventurer Posted September 5, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2005 I own 2 timeshares...paid $18,000 for 1 and $12,000 for the other...I can travel to any one of 1,200 resorts for the points I bought, but if I want to trade these points for a cruise, I get lousy cabins on oversold ships. I love to cruise and would have paid the combined total of my time shares for one on a ship - if it had like 2 bedrooms, a kitchenette, and a great pool deck. This has to be the wave of the future. We are a family of 4 so if anyone can come up with a deal and build a time share ship, we're in. Any one else...?
SailBadtheSinner Posted September 5, 2005 #2 Share Posted September 5, 2005 If you own timeshares, you should be a member of the Timeshare Users Group (TUG for short). You can learn how to get the most from what you currently own and be in communication with some very experienced owners. I seem to recall there was a discussion of what you are asking about a few years ago, but nothing recently. suezyq50 Posted September 5, 2005 #3 Share Posted September 5, 2005 We love our timeshare! But to get the most dollars out of it, we had to rent. We tried exchanging for a cruise. It is not worth it.
joycemh Posted September 5, 2005 #4 Share Posted September 5, 2005 I looked into trading for a cruise with either RCI or II and it just isn't worth it. We can cruise cheaper on our own and use our time shares for resort vacations. Joyce
