Hope it's not a crazy Spring Break obnoxious time.

Wasn't really thinking too much about it except I just saw two friends post on FB who are on Liberty of the Seas and said it was crazy. His details were colorful lol. His is a 5 day cruise tho.

Ours is an 8 day cruise so I am hoping less Spring Break college crazy?

Oi!! Should I be worried or am I over thinking.

The younger kids can also be a big problem; not just college kids. Unfortunately many parents let their kids run wild.

The only cruise we've taken during Spring Break time was a 12 day Panama Canal cruise. It had very few kids, but in the airport after the cruise we heard people complaining about their 7 night cruises.

I wish you the best.

Uggg, I hope it's not horrible. This is the first time sailing without a balcony because of a promotion. So we don't even have a balcony to escape to.

I really hope it's not crazy and obnoxious. I don't have kids and it's been awhile since I was in college so frankly, I wasn't even thinking of Spring Break when we booked it months ago.

Hi Clearwater...my family and I are from Tampa and will be cruising with you...YAY!!! We went on a 6 day last year at the exact same time, and we were pleasantly surprised. No major rowdiness or chaos, just lots of kiddos that my daughters could play with!!

We just realized last night that our balcony is right above the promenade deck AND situated adjacent to the night-club. So we aren't stressing so much about the Spring Break crowd, but rather hearing the beats of the nightclub until the early hours of the morning, lol!! We'll make the best of it, but will be packing lots of ear plugs and z-quil!!

Good to hear last year wasn't too crazy, phew! We ALWAYS have a balcony so that just gives us extra peace. Not having that is taking our security blanket away lol!!

Glad you are cruising with us!! I can't wait to see the Breeze, my first time on her!

We sailed on the Paradise out of Tampa on a 5-day in 2012 during the height of Spring Break. I have three teenage daughters, so I was really worried about college age boys on that one. However, the crowd was no different than any of the other cruises I've been on, and we just did an 8-day at the end of August (maybe a few more younger children). Now the 3-day Nassau cruise we are doing April 2nd out of Port Canaveral - that has me worried a bit!

I'm old...age wise that is... and I love spring break cruises. In fact the last spring break cruise we took we were the ancients aboard being in our mid 60s. Everything went faster especially the lines in the buffet areas and debarking at the ports and the ship traveled with 2000 kids teenage or younger. There were plenty of loungers since the kids had other things to occupy them...lounges were less crowded, the spa was virtually empty. My friends who went to the late shows said seats were easy to get since the kids were at their own night time activities. And because of all the families traveling we didn't see many college spring breakers, and the ones we did run in to were respectful. The casino was also much less crowded.

And I am not disparaging older folks but because of the lack of wheelchairs, walkers, and scooters it was much easier to get from point A to point B. Give me a cruise during the later weeks in March and April anytime.

Matt Mitcham. He's on fb & belongs to another forum I'm on. I can't share the video, but search fb, you'll find it!

I found it. Oi. I hope THAT was the Spring Break cruise and not this weekend lol.

I have cruised in March 3 times, and I was fine with it. There were more kids/teens/college aged folks on the ship than there were when I cruise during the Sep-Dec months, but it wasn't that bad.

The time of year I won't cruise is during the summer. I would pick Spring Break months over June, July & August.

We were on the Triumph last March and had a ton of Spring Breakers from Texas. Then we went on the Breeze in April and had a ton of them from Florida. GREAT CRUISE both times!!! We've never had a problem with the college kids. They party; we party. No problems!

Ironically, I figured the younger kids would be in activities, slides, etc... it wasn't them I was worried about.

It was more college age, no loungers, crazy drunks all over. I remember Spring Break on land and it was crazy so wasn't associating it to a cruise.

Thanks for everyones insight. Looks like the cruise just sold out so it's going to be a packed one! I am excited either way and will find spots hopefully to relax :)

We were on a 5 night Ruby Princess a year ago next week and we found where all the older cruisers were. We are in our late 40's and we were the young folks on that cruise. It seemed like our cruise was full of Snow Birds and Florida Retirement Village Groups....we actually wondered where all the Spring Breakers were hiding!

Good luck. I actually took a cruise last October (5th - 11th) on the Dream out of New Orleans, and although it wasn't Spring Break time, it was FALL BREAK for the little ones and it was awful. The parents let their kids loose and it was just hell. We are going on another cruise out of New Orleans (different itinerary) in October (25th - 2nd of Nov) and I heard it's a little better as there are not too many kids. Don't get me wrong, I like kids, but when parents let them go wild and let them loose, that's when trouble starts, and it did. Spitting in their hands and then shaking (unsuspecting hands of adults), running on deck and bumping into people without stopping and asking if they are okay. Jumping down the stairs while people are trying to walk up or down. Cannon balls into a full pool, just missing other people in the pool....and on, and on, and on!

Good luck and hopefully it won't be too bad for you. I did my research this time around, so I'm hoping to miss it going forward!

I'm going on this same cruise. I hope it's not too wild. I'm 34. Wife is 30 and we are bringing our 10 year old. I'll be putting the drinks down but obviously not obnoxiously drunk.

I hope it works out. We will be on a 7 night cruise during Spring Break here in Louisiana on the Dream. I am prepared for it to be full of kids but we hardly spend any time by the pool and most of our time is in the casino. Kids won't really be much of an issue for us. We have a balcony (cove) so at least we can get some peace and a nice ocean view without the kids if we want it. I would love to cruise when kids are in school but I am a teacher and that won't be happening until I retire, haha.

I am hoping that our cruise won't be as bad as the 5 day on the Elation. I honestly would prefer kids to a bunch of drunk college students and I think they tend to stick to the shorter cruises. Plus, our cruise gets back the Sunday before everyone goes back to school so that may have kept some people from taking that cruise.

We just got off the Carnival Fantasy last week from a 5 day cruise out of Charleston. I would say (roughly) 25% or so of our pax were spring breakers or of the age of 21-mid 20's whether they were in school or no. Aside from some isolated incidents and the fact that they took over the main pool itself (not necessarily the area around it) they were drama free. We are late 30s so I tend to not really have a problem with that crowd unless incidents develop because I was that age once (although I didn't cruise) and I know what it means. I will say that a lot of them did not utilize the dining room but a surprising amount of them did and actually dressed better than a lot of the >30 passengers. Perhaps it was because we sailed from Charleston and a lot of the adult pax were rednecks lol. There were very few primary school aged children on our cruise you had to really look. There were not a whole lot in our age group either. So it seemed like it was 25% college kids, 25% ages 25-55, and 50% 55+. One upside to the college kids is they leave the ship en masse on port days and on sea days dominate the pool and outside so the facilities inside are usually under utilized.

There are always bad seeds on a cruise especially one that attracts a more regional crowd like those that sail out of ports not in Florida. Spring break is usually one calendar week so it was no wonder our 5 day cruise was popular. 7 might be tight depending on when the cruise falls on the calendar. Doubtful you will see very many college kids on a 7+ simply because it would eat away school days.

Not trying to sound biased in favor of that crowd but relaying our experience and my personal lack of concern. I am sure if you interviewed a dozen people who cruised with a lot of spring breakers there is bound to be 1 or 2 that will make it sound horrible. Stuff happens on cruises when you have 3-6K on board. Even if there was no one 18-25 on board and you miss a port I would be more worried about those unruly crowds... Moral Of The Story: Do your homework, think about your priorities, what you will utilize on board and what you want to accomplish but don't worry about that crowd.

Thanks everyone for the insight and personal experiences!

I do remember Spring Break, while not cruising, and I feel bad for the people around us brats back then ;)

I am 40 and my husband is 47. So we def aren't old and cranky but I am just not in the barfing in the pool, running naked thru the halls mentality.

Either way, I am prepared and ready and looking forward to seeing the Breeze! 2 days until we leave woo hoo!

Sad to say but I see more of the behavior you are describing from the 40 year olds that choose to let their hair down on a cruise than I do from the college aged kids. I despise stereotyping and I think it is unfair of people to equate massive misbehavior with any particular group whether kids or young adults.
