Disneybridein2k3 Posted March 10, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2015 We arrive at Grand Cayman on RCCL's Freedom of the Seas on 3/19 at 8am and leave at 4pm. I would like to do the Seven Fathoms Rum distillery tour but would also like to snorkel. I was looking for advice. First, is there time to do both? And second, if so, do you recommend hiring a driver for the day? I wasn't sure if there was a place to snorkel close to the pier and then just book the tour through Discount Excursions for transportation. Any info would be great - thanks! cb at sea Posted March 10, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2015 (edited) GC has a great bus system...$2.50 pp...no need to hire a driver!! Lol! I don't know how long the distillery would take..You will need to be at the tender dock at 3:30 pm....last call to reboard the ship is 30 mins. prior! Traffic back to the ship in the afternoon CRAWLS...only 1 road!!! And remember, 8 am is when the 1st tender starts to board.....not when you get to the island!! So, it will really depend how long you'll spend at the distillery, if you can hit a beach for snorkeling first! All of 7 Mile Beach is public, and an easy bus ride! Disneybridein2k3 Posted March 14, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted March 14, 2015 Thanks for the quick reply and the advice! I think I'll take your advice and snorkel first. The distillery tour looks to be about an hour but I don't want to be the last person running back to the ship!
runner15km Posted March 14, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 14, 2015 The best snorkeling is a five minute walk from the tender pier. Turn right and walk to Eden Rock, they have the gear and lockers to rent. Snorkel before rum ! :p
