Verona - private tour

We will be stopping in Verona, en route from Venice to Milan (and then on to other destinations).

Has anyone used a good tour guide there?

Also, is there real value in spending two full days rather than one full day (3 nights rather than two)?

We are planning to stay at Hotel Accademia, but it isn't too late to change (reservation is fully refundable until almost last minute).

This is the only place we'll be visiting where we can't quite figure out the a good tour guide, or quite what to see/how long to stay.

We'll be happy wandering those ancient streets, but we want to avoid finding out after we've left that we "really shouldn't have missed X", etc.

Many thanks.

Hotel Accademia is nice. I prefer smaller hotels but that is personal preference rather than a comment on the Accademia.

Verona is not a city for which a guide is needed. It is a compact town and easily walkable. Also, the local bus service will get you where you want to go easily enough. Also, if you like to pedal, it is GREAT for biking -- and the Accademia loans bikes to to guests.
