VaTraveler Posted June 10, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2004 Can anyone tell me if it is necessary or advisable to book this tour on line in advance, or can tickets be easily purchased when getting off the ship? The website is a little confusing since it mentions four different lines (red, yellow, blue, green) but doesn't explain what the difference is. Is this something that would normally be sold out if not purchased in advance? Bobby Sue
westielvr Posted June 11, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 11, 2004 We picked up a Hop on Hop off bus in Copenhagen the morning that we arrived. I would love to chat with you about Williamsburg --we are headed there in Sept. Mindy@sharphaus.com
cruisernut Posted June 11, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 11, 2004 The buses were not sold out when we got off the ship either. The tickets are valid for 2 days and the difference in the lines is that they go around different routes. The red line seems to be the most popular one that stays mainly within the city and goes to the little mermaid. The others (green & yellow) go outside the city to the Carlsberg brewery for example or the church. You can buy tickets directly from the bus driver. All tours start and end from the Radhuspladsen. VaTraveler Posted June 11, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted June 11, 2004 Thank you so much for your replies. That's good to know. I preferred to do it the day I got there but didn't want to risk it's being sold out. Westielvr, look for an e-mail from me. Bobby Sue
lysolqn Posted June 11, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 11, 2004 We used the hop on/hop off bus in Copenhagen just last week. The stop is at the pier, just steps from the ship, and there is no reason to book ahead of time.

summer2004 Posted June 13, 2004 #10 Share Posted June 13, 2004 Thanks for the info! I do have one question, does the 24 hr. ticket allow you to ride all the different routes (red, green, yellow lines) or do you have to buy a ticket for each different color route? Thanks. lysolqn Posted June 14, 2004 #11 Share Posted June 14, 2004 The hop on/hop off bus is a good way to get an overview and acquaint yourself with the city. Once you've done that, walk, walk, walk. It's the best way to see the city and Copenhagen is small enough to do it.
VaTraveler Posted June 15, 2004 Author #12 Share Posted June 15, 2004 Summer2004, I'm not sure, but it seemed from the website that you had to buy a ticket for a specific line. That is why I was confused. Bobby Sue
