Raynebaby Posted March 20, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 20, 2015 Is there any crab cakes available on any night in the MDR? I love them and I didn't see any on any menu I've seen, we're sailing on the gem in Nov
Kingofwylietx Posted March 20, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 20, 2015 It was a different cruise line, but I got crab cakes when they where not on the menu in the MDR. I asked the maitre d for them and we got them the next night. They didn't charge me anything, which was a nice surprise. Soooo....if they are not on the menu, don't be afraid to ask for them. Good luck.

Rare mking8288 Posted March 20, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 20, 2015 Gem in Nov. 2015 or 2016 ?? Try asking those questions a month or two before you sail date - nothing is definitive these days with all the givens & unknown. I can tell you we had them on the Carnavel Splendor 2 years ago out of NY - in the MDR - and they were excellent. We loved them too ourselves and will be on the lookout for them next week on the Breakaway sailing out of NY. Don't be surprised if NCL will come up with newer menu items and substitute fish cakes instead - what do you think ?
Raynebaby Posted March 20, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted March 20, 2015 Thanks for the info, I will ask again closer to the date, it's Nov 2015. I hope they don't replace them with fish cakes, I don't like those.
hawk1972 Posted March 20, 2015 #6 Share Posted March 20, 2015 We had crab cakes (and conch fritters) as an appetizer on the Jewel in January. I think it was the first night. Not sure if they were available after that.
acruisingcouple Posted March 20, 2015 #7 Share Posted March 20, 2015 We had them as an appetizer on the Gem last week. I think it may have been the first night as well.
