I am hitting the refresh button every few minutes waiting for the reviews from the post-dry dock Miracle. Please...I know you are just getting off the boat but any little morsel to keep me hanging on until you can post pictures and full review. I'm anxious that they changed my beloved home-away-from-home too much!

I'm totally new to cruising and I'm trying to learn as much as I can, so I have to ask, what does it mean to dry dock a ship? I'm assuming that it means that the ship is taking a break from sailing, and from then sound of your post, that they do renovations to the ship during this time. Is that correct?

Yes. While the Miracle didn't get all the newest bells and whistles, it is my understanding that they freshened her up a bit and addressed some mechanical issues. Some dry-docks are longer and more detailed. But mostly its a chance to give a ship a (metaphorical) new coat of paint.
