rookery Posted April 2, 2015 #26 Share Posted April 2, 2015 (edited) I believe that if the regular prices were more reasonable to start with, and more accurately reflected the standard of ship/accommodation/food (3 star at best), Thomson wouldn't have to off-load unsold spaces at a massive discount. Couldn't agree more! then we wouldn't get the bargains LOL True, but then we'd all be paying reasonable and fair prices, and there wouldn't be this huge displacement at a dinner table where some have paid less than half of others, and in my view would lead to higher customer satisfaction! Just tell them you paid £5000 ,that will really brighten up their day. While people continue to book at silly prices then silly prices will remain. LOL Very true, Thomson will charge what they can get away with, not necessarily what the product and service is worth. Unfortunately after being caught out a few times with their pricing structure (if it is at all structured, we think it's just random!), it now means we will only book a bargain with them, so they lose out in the end! Huddersfieldtourist Posted April 4, 2015 #32 Share Posted April 4, 2015 Agree -the pricing model they use may not always work to their advantage but at times it will do - they are too big to work it manually so bargains may always be had at the end however it may be from Gatwick which may not be suitable if you live in Newcastle etc or it may be just an inside cabin that is left when you always want at least a porthole etc

Therefore, as they're juggling around cabin availability between all the options constantly, it leads me to think they do the same thing with the prices too.
