SeaCBear Posted April 3, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 3, 2015 Hi everyone - I've read that we may be charged state tax if we purchase our beverage packages when we board in Fort Lauderdale, before we've actually left port. We've purchased packages as soon as we've boarded on other cruises, and I don't think we were charged any tax. Can anyone report if they were actually charged state tax on board? Thanks. hosscow Posted April 3, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 3, 2015 On our March 6 Equinox cruise we upgraded our drink packages while still docked, the bartender wrote out a paper slip. He said they would process them while at sea so no tax was payed.
SeaCBear Posted April 3, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted April 3, 2015 Thanks hosscow - hopefully that's the standard practice on board! Oxo Posted April 3, 2015 #4 Share Posted April 3, 2015 Don't know about the package. However, when we were on the ship in Port Everglades before we left the port and bought a coffee and cappuccino, they did charge us extra for the Florida State Tax. wallie5446 Posted April 3, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 3, 2015 Last Nov we upgraded to the Premium as soon as we boarded the Equinox, before our Sail Away party, while still docked, in Port Everglades. There was no additional on our account besides the $11.80 per day difference.
jerseygirl3 Posted April 3, 2015 #6 Share Posted April 3, 2015 We were charged one time when we purchased a package onboard before we sailed. I went to Guest Relations to question it and they promptly offered to remove it. Sent from my iPad using Forums
