Allowed Boarding Time

Our next cruise departs at 6:00PM and we would like to check out from our hotel at noon. In your experience, would a 1:00PM boarding be allowed? SS says official time is 2 hours prior to sailing, but I've read on these threads that boarding could be earlier. BTW, Silver Spirit arrives in Rome on May 27th and we sail from Rome on May 31st... Thanks for your feedback.

Not a lot of experience here but we boarded at noon for a 4:30 sail. And I am hoping to do something like that in May.

Yes, it is usually no problem to board at lunchtime. The suite may not be ready until 2 pm but you are welcome to eat.

Yes this is correct. If you can; 2PM or after works the best. That way you room is ready and you don't have to hang around with your carry on luggage.

We usually get to the ship at about 1pm, and no matter what time the ship sails, it's never been a problem checking in and boarding. The cabins may not be ready, but they typically are serving lunch in La Terrazza and by the Pool.

The passenger services desk will hold your hand luggage for you while you eat lunch, you will find it delivered to your cabin with your main luggage. Just ask while you are checking in.

No problem whatsoever to get there earlier and then have a nice lunch...Start relaxing early :)

We boarded Spirit yesterday at around 12.30. We were by no means the first. Checked in and tucking into a fine Terraza lunch within 15 minutes. Cabin ready by 2.
