Luggage Storage At NY Pier Before Emarkation

If we arrive the NY Pier/Terminal at around 8:00a.m., is there anyway we could have our luggage stored so that we wouldn't have to sit and wait around for four hours until check-in?

 

Any suggestions? Thanks!

We are in a similar 'boat'. We're arriving into New York at 7.30am , but our flight back to the Uk isn't until the evening. We were hoping someone would know of a storage facility at the port where we can leave our luggage so that we can go shopping and have lunch in the city.

Hi,

 

There is no luggage storage per se at the NY Passenger Ship Terminal. If you arrive early you will be hit with a wave of passengers and their luggage disembarking. I have disembarked at various times in NYC and it was usually around 10:30.

 

The stevedores will be busy getting the passengers and their luggage OFF the ship/pier area. That being said: If you have everything properly tagged with your id and cabin number if you give one of the stevedores a nice tip, they will take the luggage from you immediately and it will be delivered to your cabin. I would not leave hand luggage with them unless it can be locked and is big enough not to get lost.

I would say go to one of the BIG midtown hotels (Hilton, Shereton, etc) and leave your bags in the checkroom.... I think the fee is like $2 a suitcase.
