Cahal Pech?

Will be in Belize on the Magic in next month and looking at which Mayan excursion to book. I have read many of the reviews on Xunantunich and had planned on doing this excursion. However, maybe I overlooked it in the past but I now see Cahal Pech shown as an excursion with lunch (similar to Xunantunich). No reviews on Carnival site or this one (that I saw with a quick search). Anyone have any thoughts on Cahal Pech? Thanks in advance.

Is this a Carnival sponsored excursion? Private vendor? The site is a tad closer than Xunantunich, but it is just the digs of a royal family home site. I believe the local area has a resort that tries to take advantage of the site. But just take a look at the pictures for both Cahal Pech and Xunantunich and then determine which would have the best interest for you. The Carnival tour to Xunantunich stops for lunch at a hotel/restaurant in San Ignacio so I would assume you'd have lunch at the same place. It's pretty good, but Belikin beer and ice cream are extra (not expensive and do try both).

It is a carnival sponsored cruise, only 1/2 hour difference. From the description it reads like lunch is served at the site. Trip adviser had good reviews, just thought it was odd I didn't see anything other than a description on here. Thanks for the tip crew.
