rachelfran Posted April 10, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2015 (edited) I'm booked on the 7-DAY GREECE & DALMATIAN DELIGHTS from Athens to Venice and looking into both pre and post hotel stays ... Any idea what pier the ships comes into and what might be reasonable location for a hotel? First time in Venice! First time on Seabourn! ab21au Posted April 11, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 11, 2015 We docked on the Odyssey in 2013 at the main passenger terminal (not St Marta). We used a private water taxi to get to our hotel Anastasia, near St Marks. They told us which was the nearest dock to get the taxi to take us to. The taxi I booked with (online I think) was Consorzio Motoscafi Venezia, Customer service (operative 24h/24): +39 041 5222303 This is from the email they sent me with the booking confirmation. We docked at berth 18 on this map. http://www.reidsitaly.com/destinations/veneto/venice/planning/staz_marittima_map.html The water taxi left from down near 103 on the map, but you need to go past that to the booths to get the ticket from the booking and they then told us where to go to get the taxi. It seemed like mayhem but worked out fine. It seemed that most of the crowd were waiting for public water taxi not private water taxi. Us passing the Odyssey at the dock on the water taxi. There were 4 of us and lots of luggage which fitted ok. The hotel was cheapish for Venice and a brilliant location, very small rooms but very clean and fine for the few days post cruise. secoma4 Posted April 11, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 11, 2015 We also docked at 18. If you are lucky you will get St Basilio which is right next to a ferry stop. There are lots of water taxis at the end of the wharf 18 area which you can book on arrival. Our hotel was Hotel Princepe which is very convenient to the Station. dalliowner Posted April 11, 2015 #4 Share Posted April 11, 2015 try http://www.vtp.it This is the venice port and should give details of ship arrivals. If you do not speak Italian in the top right you can change to English.:)
