needleinahaystack Posted April 15, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 15, 2015 FYI if anyone is sailing on this cruise next april I just received this from my agent, better that they move the time forward rather than back. Although it is a long way off just thought I would share. Cheers In the interest of enhancing our guests' experiences, we have adjusted the departure time from Hong Kong, China during your upcoming voyage from 4 PMuntil 6 PM local time April 03, 2016. The attached revised itineraryreflects these changes. Kindly adjust any personal plans accordingly. We look forward to welcoming you on board. This is good news indeed and a direct result of Seabourn management listening to their customers. We were on Sojourn in March of this year and had a 4:00 departure (plus it was embarkation day for new guests). We did not have the benefit of overnight in port. It was a Sunday, meaning that nothing much was open until late morning. In addition, we had to be back on board for a 3:00 p.m. safety drill. All of this meaning there was little time to enjoy the wonders of Hong Kong. Several diamond members collectively wrote and signed a letter to Seattle sharing their disappointment and requesting that closer attention be given to future itineraries involving large, interesting cities in order for continuing guests to fully enjoy their day in port. needleinahaystack Posted April 20, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted April 20, 2015 I can understand their concern as there is so much to see in Hong Kong, I have been there many times and its a great city, I am more excited that perhaps it will be dusk and more lights of the city will be on and that will make for a great sail away and stunning photos to take. We are looking forward to this itinerary even though we have already been to some of the destinations, we love our time aboard Seabourn ships.
