Debarkation -is there a way to get off the ship early for flight?

Everyone got a colored tag, but there's no use for them when you carry off your own bags. All three trips involved customs, by the way. The colored tags have nothing to do with customs. They're for organizing the pandemonium of disembarkation and luggage claim. Customs could care less.

Well then my Island Princess disembarkation was an anomaly. Customs did care when people were disembarking and the colored tags were used to control disembarkation. Sorry to demonstrate my ignorance when everyone else is obviously right, but that’s what happened.

On Princess, early debarkation tags are red. You take your tickets to the purser, and the night before leaving the tags are brought to your cabin, and red is called first the next morning!! :)
Close but not quite accurate. You'll receive disembarkation travel forms during the cruise where you'll be able to put your flight # or disembarkation preference. The luggage tags are delivered to your cabin the day before you disembark, not the night before since it's recommended that you put your luggage out before going to dinner, and will include the estimated departure time for each colored tag. On our Royal Princess cruise, they were delivered two nights before disembarkation. You don't need to go to the Pursar's Desk unless you either didn't receive the form or you've received the wrong colored tag. Red 1, 2 and 3 are the first colors called, either all three at the same time or else within minutes of each other.
