Rare BSR Posted April 17, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 17, 2015 (edited) First time booking on HAL and I have a J inside cabin on hold, but now rethinking about booking a verandah cabin. My choices are on the Rotterdam deck 7028, 7023, 7027. Aft choices are 7123, 7131. Navigation deck 8017, 8026, 8023 and aft is 8110. Also there is one on the Upper Prom deck 4041. Can anyone recommend which cabin is better? Edited April 17, 2015 by BSR
midwest 852 Posted April 17, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 17, 2015 I avoid the 8th floor because I don't like being under the lido deck.
I_r_a Posted April 17, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 17, 2015 Hi BSR, We booked a cabin on 7 for the same reason. W/o knowing where you are going, it's hard to tell if you want aft or for'd. Aft can have engine vibration. For'd can have wave action. Where are you going? Ira

catl331 Posted April 17, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 17, 2015 (edited) Except for 8110 and 4041 the other 6 are all pretty much the same ... nothing noisy above them ... it just comes down to whether you prefer the "entertainment" (forward) or the "food" (aft) end of the ship. We prefer the aft section, so our first choices would be 7123 or 7131. I would not choose 8110 because of the possibility of noise above. I would not choose 4041 because it has a steel-wall railing rather than plexiglass, limiting what you can see when seated. Thanks. I'm thinking about 7123, 7131 or 7139. There's also some cabins on the other side of the ship. Do all the verandah's have a couch and is the 110 outlet on the desk? I_r_a Posted April 17, 2015 #8 Share Posted April 17, 2015 Hi BSR I'd go with 7123. Least engine vibration. Ira

Would this be the same on an inside cabin too? Edited April 17, 2015 by BSR
Rare BSR Posted April 17, 2015 Author #10 Share Posted April 17, 2015 All have a small sofa and two dual 115/220 outlets over the desk: Looking at this picture it shows 115V, can I plug my hair dryer into this and have it work properly?
jtl513 Posted April 17, 2015 #11 Share Posted April 17, 2015 (edited) Looking at this picture it shows 115V, can I plug my hair dryer into this and have it work properly? Yes, US appliances are made to use 110v to 120v. The label on the dryer should say that ... or more likely just 120v.
