schlimazel_traveler Posted June 18, 2015 #26 Share Posted June 18, 2015 As Classic members, we had the 10% coupon on the sheet of Captain's Club coupons in our cabin. We were able to share the account within our group, logging in one device at a time. I was glad to have it but I'm surprised to see that other cruise lines offer dramatically less expensive options. ($20 or $25 for access to social media sites on Carnival, e.g.)
ptrpanpens Posted June 18, 2015 #27 Share Posted June 18, 2015 I guess everyone here knows you have free access to the Celebrity, RCCL and Azamara web sites onboard. So dont waste paid minutes if you want to check out cruises like I did bfore I found out!
CoralReef Posted June 19, 2015 #28 Share Posted June 19, 2015 On the 5/28 Connie sailing, we did get a coupon for various Select wifi discounts, but the coupon was not needed. The discount was automatically applied when we logged on. We initially bought a 240 minute package. Partway through the cruise, just as our minutes were running out, they offered an unlimited package at a prorated, discounted cost. Having discovered how many minutes it took just to check e-mail, we signed up. The total cost ended up being about the same as if we'd signed up for unlimited (with the Select discount) in the beginning. In retrospect, I would do unlimited from the beginning. The slow speed is still aggravating, but at least you're not worrying about how many minutes a simple Google search will take.
hughdm Posted June 19, 2015 #29 Share Posted June 19, 2015 Carnival is also starting a program that is interesting. For about half the price, you can get a package that will let you get to email, Facebook, Twitter, and a few other sites but not unlimited browsing. It worked quite well for us, as that's all we really need on a cruise anyway.
