cruising_diva Posted May 4, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 4, 2015 If one pays a cash deposit for cruise funds, can you get any remaining funds from a kiosk at the end?! I have read the horror stories about the long lines the last night of the cruise. We have always used a debit card for our Sail and Sign Card, and never had any issues. But I also have heard horror stories about holds on accounts, fraudulent activity, etc. So I am considering using a cash deposit for our next cruise. I don't want to be standing in line the last night of our cruise. So all I want to know is if you can get the cash remaining on your account from a kiosk on the last day. Thanks in advance for any help!

Gamecock_Cruiser Posted May 4, 2015 #3 Share Posted May 4, 2015 If there is any money in the machines on the last night. That was our plan last cruise too, but both machines were out of money
AlycLiz Posted May 4, 2015 #4 Share Posted May 4, 2015 Yes, in increments of $5. If you have less than $5 after said increments - the remaining amount has to be cashed out at GS or is donated to St. Judes.
dioxide45 Posted May 4, 2015 #5 Share Posted May 4, 2015 I wouldn't use a debit card for Sail & Sign. I would use a credit card. If you want to apply cash to the account during the cruise instead of putting charges on the card, just deposit money at the pursers desk or at the kiosk. At the end of the cruise you might have a small balance owed that would then charge to the card. The most the hold would probably be would be $100 as long as you don't let your balance get very high. I was behind a couple at the kiosk on our last cruise and I suspect this is what they did. They deposited $600 in cash at the kiosk. By using a credit card, you don't need to worry about a hold against your actual money, and you are more protected against fraud than your debit card which is tied to real cash in your checking account.
